Gymnastics BeginnersSportsThis entry level class will introduce floor skills such as tuck, pike, straddle, hollow, madcat, lunge, finish position, forward and backward roll, cartwheel to lunge, tuck, split, straddle jumps, toe turns, handstand to lunge. Vault skills such as handstand to hollow onto pit, proper run and hurdle step. Bar skills such as pull up, pike glide, tuck, pike, straddle holds, monkey tap swings, pullovers. Gymnastics ElitesSportsGymnast must have mastered Pre-Team and receive approval from coaching staff or reach out to Megan to assess if your gymnast is ready to join Elites, if they are not from the Brainerd. Gymnasts will continue to improve and learn new skills from prior classes. They will begin to learn routines and what it would be like to compete. This will prepare them to join the highschool team when they are asked. Current Pre-Team Gymnasts will be assessed in the summer of 2027 to determine if they are ready to move up.Fall 2026 -
Gymnastics Pre-TeamSportsParticipants must have mastered the Selects level and received congratulations and approval slip from coaching staff to participate in this class. Gymnasts will be introduced to the following advanced tumbling and intermediate apparatus skills. Floor: round off back handspring and back tucks, front tuck, full twisting jumps, switch leap, full handstand pirouette. Vault: front handspring over the vault table, introduction for 1/2 ons. Bars: kip, back hip circle on low and high bars, straddle handstand on floor bar , big tap swings on high bar, flyaway with spot, mini routine. Beam: stuck cartwheel and back walkover on high beam, split leaps, full turn, connected jumps, and introduction to round off and back handspring, back tuck dismount, and connected dismounts. Gymnasts who are in the Pre-Team class will be assessed at the end of the June session of 2026 to determine their eligibility to be a part of the Elites competitive team.Fall 2026 -
Gymnastics Selects Gr 1+SportsParticipants must have mastered the beginners level and received congratulations and approval slip from coaching staff to participate in this class. The following tumbling and apparatus skills will be mastered in this class. Floor: Back and front walkover, handstand forward roll, backward roll to handstand, flight round off, twisting jumps of all shapes, split leaps, front handspring, and introduction to back handspring. Vault: Handstand to hollow on raised port a pit, proper run and hurdle, handspring over vault table with spot, proper technique on side drills.Bars: Pullover, Hollow body cast, back hip circle, tap swings on low and high bar in hollow body position, low bar squat on, proper technique on side drills, and introduction to kips.Beam: connect jumps on all shapes, ½ toe turns, mastered beam routine with cartwheel on high beam, and introduction to back walkovers and round offs.Fall 2026 -
