Starting SoonBrainerd Youth Cross Country Gr 1-6SportsYouth cross country running with Joe and Erica Webster. Come learn the basics of age appropriate long distance running. Sessions involve dynamic warm up, running technique, skill work, running games and a warm down. Running race dates to be determined. All runners will get a running singlet when registered by August 10th. Sessions will be Mondays at 5:00pm and Saturdays at 12:00 pm Participants will meet at the tennis courts at Forestview. Starting SoonFootball - Middle School Camps Gr 6-8SportsGr 6-8 Big Man Football Camp: This camp is for players aspiring to be offensive and defensive linemen. Players will be instructed by grade level on the skills and techniques that go with becoming a successful football player in the Warrior football program. This camp is meant to be instructional, fun and competitive. Players will play 7 on 7 each night, as well as other lineman competitions. To guarantee a T-shirt you must register BEFORE August 9th. Gr 7-8 Team Football Camp: This is a non-contact camp and does not require any equipment except cleats, t-shirt and shorts. The focus of the camp is to give middle school football players a jump start on their middle school season. Participants will be broken up by grade level to begin learning the basic offensive and defensive schemes for their upcoming school season, as well as have opportunities to compete and use what they learned at the Big Man Camp. The remainder of the camp will be dedicated toward fun competitive drills centered around football and learning the game. To guarantee a T-shirt you must register BEFORE August 24th. Gymnastics BeginnersSportsThis entry level class will introduce floor skills such as tuck, pike, straddle, hollow, madcat, lunge, finish position, forward and backward roll, cartwheel to lunge, tuck, split, straddle jumps, toe turns, handstand to lunge. Vault skills such as handstand to hollow onto pit, proper run and hurdle step. Bar skills such as pull up, pike glide, tuck, pike, straddle holds, monkey tap swings, pullovers. Beam skills such as front support to straddle mount, walk, kick, straight jumps across beam, handstands on beam, cartwheel stick on low beam, round off dismount.Fall 2026 -
Gymnastics ElitesSportsGymnast must have mastered Pre-Team and receive approval from coaching staff or reach out to Megan to assess if your gymnast is ready to join Elites, if they are not from the Brainerd. Gymnasts will continue to improve and learn new skills from prior classes. They will begin to learn routines and what it would be like to compete. This will prepare them to join the highschool team when they are asked. Current Pre-Team Gymnasts will be assessed in the summer of 2027 to determine if they are ready to move up.Fall 2026 -
Gymnastics Pre-TeamSportsParticipants must have mastered the Selects level and received congratulations and approval slip from coaching staff to participate in this class. Gymnasts will be introduced to the following advanced tumbling and intermediate apparatus skills. Floor: round off back handspring and back tucks, front tuck, full twisting jumps, switch leap, full handstand pirouette. Vault: front handspring over the vault table, introduction for 1/2 ons. Bars: kip, back hip circle on low and high bars, straddle handstand on floor bar , big tap swings on high bar, flyaway with spot, mini routine. Beam: stuck cartwheel and back walkover on high beam, split leaps, full turn, connected jumps, and introduction to round off and back handspring, back tuck dismount, and connected dismounts. Gymnasts who are in the Pre-Team class will be assessed at the end of the June session of 2026 to determine their eligibility to be a part of the Elites competitive team.Fall 2026 -
Gymnastics Selects Gr 1+SportsParticipants must have mastered the beginners level and received congratulations and approval slip from coaching staff to participate in this class. The following tumbling and apparatus skills will be mastered in this class. Floor: Back and front walkover, handstand forward roll, backward roll to handstand, flight round off, twisting jumps of all shapes, split leaps, front handspring, and introduction to back handspring. Vault: Handstand to hollow on raised port a pit, proper run and hurdle, handspring over vault table with spot, proper technique on side drills.Bars: Pullover, Hollow body cast, back hip circle, tap swings on low and high bar in hollow body position, low bar squat on, proper technique on side drills, and introduction to kips.Beam: connect jumps on all shapes, ½ toe turns, mastered beam routine with cartwheel on high beam, and introduction to back walkovers and round offs.Fall 2026 -
Gymnastics Tumbling TotsSportsCome enjoy this OPEN GYM with your littlest gymnast. This is not an instruction class. Parents are responsible for their own children during this class and MUST be with them at all times. Different stations and mats will be set up for your little one to explore and be introduced to gymnastics. Parks and Rec Fall Soccer Ages 4-10SportsFall soccer is designed for boys and girls to learn fundamentals, sportsmanship and have fun playing the team sport of soccer. Players meet one week night and Saturday mornings for games and practices at Southdale Soccer Fields in Baxter. Ages 4-5 and 6-7 parents can select Monday or Thursday practice nights. Ages 8-10 practice option is Thursday night only - in addition to Saturday. A parent/player meeting will be held Thursday, September 10th at Forestview Middle School Cafetorium. Parents of new players will meet at 5:15pm, parents of returning players may pick up their shirt and schedules from 6-7pm that same night. It is very important to attend this first meeting to receive your schedule and team assignment. We rely on parent coaches. To ensure a successful season for our players, please consider coaching. Register BY September 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. Late registrants will be accepted on a space available basis. Parks and Rec Fall Soccer Gr 5-6Sports5th/6th Grade Co-Ed Soccer offers an opportunity for students to learn and play the game of soccer with fellow classmates. The season will run from September 9th - October 12. Students will be split into teams that will practice either M/W or T/Th each week and then each team will play 9 games and then a final 10th game based on where they are in the standings. Practices will help develop the student’s skills from basic to advanced while learning the team concepts of soccer. Games will mostly be on Saturday mornings but occasionally they could be on a Friday evening or the evening of a practice. Due to the number of students we ask that players only come the days they have practice but you can contact the director if another arrangement is needed for your student in terms of scheduling. When registering please note if your player could only make M/W or T/TH or if they could do either. Come experience or discover the fun of soccer. Register BY September 1st to avoid a late fee of $10. **All players are asked to be there for September 9th and 10th as that helps us evaluate players and assign teams and then starting September 14th they would only come the days their team practices.***Summer 2026 -
Parks and Rec Flag Football Gr 2-3SportsFlag football meets twice a week for a fun-filled game of non-tackling football for both boys and girls. Meets 5:45 - 7:00pm. After the first practice on Sept 14th we will have a short parent meeting. No equipment required; wear tennis shoes and dress for the weather. Register BEFORE Sept 1st, space is limited. At LEAST 8-10 parent volunteers are needed to make the program successful, please indicate your interest when registering. Warrior Cheer Homecoming Camp K-8thSportsParticipants will spend 4 days with the Warrior Cheerleader and learn Cheerleading Skills, Stunts & Cheers that are used at football games. Participants will be invited to perform during halftime of the Homecoming football game on Friday, October 2nd. Participants will receive a T Shirt (pompoms will be available for purchase). Warrior Cheer Middle School Team Gr 5-8SportsThis is open to students who are looking to get involved and learn more about Warrior Cheer. Students will learn about competition cheer and learn a game day routine to perform along with cheers, stunting, and cheer skills. There will be a Team Choreography Day on October 3rd from 9:00-5:00pm. Students will also have the opportunity to perform at a Public Showcase on Nov 21st and a MN Cheer Competition on Dec 19th. Warrior Softball Open GymSportsSoftball Skills and Fun: Grow as a softball player and make friends through the winter months. In an open gym (parent lead) setting everyone has an opportunity to play catch, field ground balls and fly balls and hit in a cage during the winter months. Softball skills lessons for all middle school players and below will be offered during open gyms. You must be registered to attend.
