I Want to be a Bird Detective
Participants will learn about appearance, location, behavior and more signs to help identify local birds. Paul will also share his thoughts on guides - books and electronics - as aids. Those attending will walk away with the abilities to begin solving that "mystery bird."

Paul Hetland is a Minnesota Master Naturalist. For the Minnesota DNR, he is currently a Naturalist Program Volunteer for Itasca State Park, a former Site Steward for the Itasca State Park Wilderness Sanctuary, Scientific and Natural Area and a Summer Park Naturalist for Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. He has degrees in Environmental Studies and NASA Space Studies from Bemidji State University. He is a life--long birder and naturalist.
